i'm a junior statesman
The JSA has been very good to me for the last week. Great campus, competent professors, hot Adviser. Great mix of kids here, too. I have crossed many boundaries here -- talking to the introverts, fitting in with the jocks, hanging with the cool kids, and enjoying everyone else in between. It hasn't been as hard to meet people here as I thought it would be. People are intrigued about where I'm from. I guess being from Saipan does have its privileges.
Work is an entirely different story. This environment is terrible for academics. I am constantly distracted at all sides. There are debates to work on, research papers to write, and 60-page readings to do. The only comfort I find is knowing that I'm not the only one whose hair is turning gray here.
And distractions? It's been a while, but I am constantly surrounded by girls. And I'm actually loving it. For the first time in my life, I'm proud to be called a pimp by all the other guys. Beautiful white girls flocking around me all day. It's an honor, baby.
